Musica Indipendente - Nasce a Palermo la FITZCARRALDO RECORDS, etichetta discografica indipendente che prende vita da un’idea di Francesco Guaiana (chitarrista), Luca Lo Bianco (contrabbassista),

Lorenzo Quattrocchi (responsabile booking e management) e Domenico Argento (musicista e designer).
Dall’ideazione alla creazione effettiva l’intento è quello di dare forma all’urgenza espressiva di una nuova generazione di improvvisatori convinti della necessità di una proposta creativa aperta a tutti i linguaggi. FITZCARRALDO RECORDS non vuole proporsi come una comune etichetta indipendente, bensì come una concreta alternativa, una vera forza propulsiva, per stimolare, aggregare, sorprendere, dando in modo tangibile una casa a tutti i progetti autenticamente creativi e originali.

L’obiettivo principale della nuova label è la selezione minuziosa dei progetti da produrre, cercando di dare una chiara e precisa omogeneità estetica al proprio percorso produttivo.

Il nome dell’etichetta prende spunto dal titolo del leggendario film di Werner Herzog, il cui protagonista, Klaus Kinski nel ruolo di Brian Sweeny Fitzgerald, ovvero Fitzcarraldo, ha il sogno di costruire un teatro dell’opera in Amazzonia. La pellicola tocca l’apice in una massima simbolica per gli ideatori della FITZCARRALDO RECORDS: “chi sogna può muovere le montagne”. “Un progetto ambizioso soprattutto di questi tempi,” – spiegano i responsabili della FITZCARRALDO RECORDS – “ma che è la naturale evoluzione di un movimento di artisti che credono in un modo nuovo di fare musica, un modo per far conoscere la parte più innovativa della cultura musicale contemporanea legata alla Sicilia, troppo spesso assimilata agli stereotipi del folk e della tradizione come unico aspetto esportabile”.
Il progetto creativo che la FITZCARRALDO RECORDS vuole sviluppare si concretizza anche nel DESIGN. Il packaging dei cd, infatti, è realizzato in cartoncino eco-compatibile e senza uso di colle, con un sistema ad incastri sviluppato dalla stessa etichetta, riducendo al minimo i residui inquinanti e mantenendo la stessa coerenza estetica nella linea grafica.
FITZCARRALDO RECORDS crede fermamente nella musica ed è per questo che cura tutti gli aspetti di ogni produzione, occupandosi per ogni pubblicazione di ogni minimo dettaglio, dalla promozione, alla grafica, dal booking all’assistenza tecnica, lasciando così massima libertà ai musicisti.
