Eventi & Concerti - Dopo cinque edizioni, decine di spettacoli e centinaia di migliaia di spettatori, il festival cambia aspetto. Fermi restando alcuni punti cardinali
(la totale gratuità, l’approccio interdisciplinare ai contenuti, il senso esclusivo di alcuni appuntamenti), Traffic riposiziona se stesso. Anzitutto in senso geografico, con lo spostamento dell’area concerti dal parco della Pellerina ai giardini della Reggia di Venaria. Non per questo perde le sue radici torinesi, anzi le rivendica. Ecco spiegato allora il motto Torino Reloaded, che vale per la musica (una doppia compilation in vinile che mette a confronto passato e presente della scena locale, con alcuni protagonisti impegnati inoltre sul main stage), l’arte (le opere dei torinesi esposte in sei gallerie cittadine), la letteratura (il compito di raccontare giorno per giorno il festival spetta a Fabio Geda) e il cinema. A quest’ultima voce è riferito l’evento inaugurale: la sonorizzazione dal vivo di Profondo rosso di Dario Argento in piazza CLN, una delle location del film. Da allora sono trascorsi 35 anni e Torino adesso è abituata a essere set cinematografico: uno dei segni della metamorfosi che l’ha interessata negli ultimi due decenni. Anche per questa ragione, parola chiave della sesta edizione di Traffic è “trasformazione”. Intesa come mutamento di stili e abitudini di vita. Come rendere sostenibile, ad esempio, la musica dal vivo. E’ un tema che approfondiremo nel convegno organizzato in collaborazione col Politecnico di Torino. Uno dei preamboli - insieme alla prima esposizione italiana delle opere di Antony Hegarty presso l’Accademia Albertina delle Belle Arti – al festival vero e proprio. Che comincia con lo show di Nick Cave affiancato dai nuovi Bad Seeds (e all’artista australiano è consacrata quest’anno l’intera sezione cinematografica di Traffic, in collaborazione col Museo Nazionale del Cinema), prosegue col rock mutante dei Primal Scream e termina al ritmo degli Underworld: reclutati tutti quanti in esclusiva nazionale. Senza trascurare gustosi elementi di contorno come le esibizioni di giovani donne di talento quali Santigold e St. Vincent, o l’elettrizzante party di chiusura affidato ai fenomeni dance nostrani da esportazione Crookers e Bloody Beetroots.
Traffic versione 2009 è così: carico di memoria, sincronizzato sull’attualità e proiettato verso il futuro.
