La storia di questo duo assomiglia quasi ad una favola: Tuck e Patti provengono da città diverse e si incontrano nel 1980, durante un'audizione, a Las Vegas; da qui inizia non solo una collaborazione musicale ma anche una storia d'amore che continua tuttora.
Patti Cathcart ha una voce profonda e ricca che avvolge l'ascoltatore in un'atmosfera perfettamente rilassante e mai noiosa; Tuck Andress si distingue per l'eccezionale dinamica e una tecnica unica al mondo grazie alla quale si ha l'illusione che ci sia più di una persona a suonare.
Il duo viene solitamente classificato come "new age" ma in realtà i generi abbracciati spaziano dal jazz al folk passando per il blues.
"Tuck and Patti" hanno ad oggi prodotto ben 14 album: l'ultimo, uscito nel 2007, dal titolo "I Remember You", si concentra su dieci standard jazz classici, rappresentando un vero ritorno alle origini; l'album dimostra ancora una volta come chitarra e voce possano formare sonorità ricche e originali.
Tuck e Patti si esibiranno al Blue Note di Milano dal 7 al 9 aprile: l'inizio del concerto è previsto per le 21.00.
