Viaggio all'inferno: un italiano detenuto all'estero

ITALIA - Come è possibile, che si lasci morire una famiglia intera? Come è possibile che in una società civile che vanta modernità come la nostra si lasci calpestare la dignità di un uomo

nel mezzo della propria vita, che per anni ha servito la patria e ci ha difeso, soccorso, aiutati, facendo parte delle forze dell'ordine per tutta la sua vita? Perché ci ricordiamo di questi eroi moderni solo quando per salvarci la vita, ci lasciano la loro?

Mi sono imbattuta per caso in un uomo, Giovanni Falcone, che allo stremo delle sue forze si trova a combattere una battaglia più grande di lui per salvare suo figlio Angelo, lui che ha sempre cercato di salvare le nostre vite. Quest'uomo sta lottando per vedere riconosciuti i diritti di un figlio incastrato dalla polizia indiana, un ragazzo di 29 anni che decide di fare un viaggio con un amico, il viaggio della sua vita quello per scoprire altre civiltà ma, come succede molte volte nell'indifferenza delle nostre Istituzioni, connazionali, italiani, si trovano all'improvviso incastrati dalle autorità del luogo per estorcere loro del denaro e cosi è successo a lui, bianco , dove bianco significa dollari, soldi.

La polizia lo arresta con una accusa infamante, traffico di droga. Come sappiamo per certo il ragazzo è stato costretto a firmare una dichiarazione di colpevolezza in lingua indiana, senza la presenza di un avvocato. In quei momenti, secondi, firmi qualsiasi cosa. Lui che per risparmiare soldi e per far sì che il suo viaggio durasse il più a lungo possibile aveva affittato una stanza dove pagava due euro al giorno figuriamoci se era in grado di acquistare 18 kg di droga.

Sono oramai due anni che il ragazzo è rinchiuso in un carcere, in un vero carcere, non un hotel come le nostre prigioni, un carcere dove dopo solo pochi giorni ci si ammala, ci si prende la scabbia, l'epatite, dove si mangia solo riso in ciotole sporche... e che riso, ve lo lascio immaginare.
Il problema è sempre il ruolo delle nostre ambasciate , le nostre rappresentanze all'estero, quelle che dovrebbero proteggerci da episodi del genere, quelle che dovrebbero aiutarci a far luce sulla verità,
Questo povero padre, che ripeto ha donato la sua vita per salvare le nostre, come spesso accade è solo e abbandonato da tutti, vergognandosi di essere italiano e vergognandosi di aver servito questo paese a scapito del tempo dedicato alla propria famiglia.

Il problema dei detenuti all'estero apre scenari ben più gravi. Se ti capita questa sventura perderai tutto, tutto quello che faticosamente hai costruito. In quei paesi ci sono sciacalli che ti mangeranno l'anima. Solo le parcelle che ti chiedono gli avvocati del posto superano di gran lunga il prezzo che potresti investire per acquistare un bell'appartamento nel tuo di paese, quello che noi chiamiamo civile.
E chi pagherà a quest'uomo le notti insonni a piangere? E chi pagherà per avergli negato l'odore, la presenza e gli abbracci mancati del proprio figlio? Lui è il primo a sostenere che se suo figlio è colpevole deve pagare, ma tutti noi sappiamo che è innocente e se proprio deve pagare, chi si farà carico di controllare che a questo ragazzo non vengano negati i suoi diritti come sta accadendo da due anni? Il ragazzo non può neanche sentire la famiglia, non può scrivere nè telefonare ed è solo in un paese straniero. Non vi sembra assurdo tutto questo? Io come Giovanni mi vergogno, e che riflettano tutti quelli che ancora credono nel patriottismo, tutti coloro che vorranno servire la patria come ha fatto lui, che a nulla servirà sia durante il servizio e specialmente dopo, sarai niente e tutti parleranno del tuo difficile lavoro solo quando per difendere noi ci lascerai tu la tua vita.

Vergognatevi, e sappiate che tutti coloro i quali sono vicini al sig. Falcone faticano e non poco per evitare che quest'uomo non faccia dei gesti estremi ormai sfinito nel gridare il suo dolore e chiedendo invano aiuto a chi la gratitudine non sa neanche dove stia di casa. Queste sono vere tragedie che potrebbero essere evitate se solo ci si sforzasse un po di capire, di indagare e basterebbe solo la voglia di aiutare della povera gente costretta a genuflettersi per ricevere risposte che, ahimé, troppo spesso non arrivano mai. Prima che sia troppo tardi fate qualcosa, fateci essere di nuovo fieri di essere italiani.

Sto guardando una serie su national geo a proposito di cittadini stranieri detenuti all'estero, sono storie sconvolgenti. Non mi permetto di giudicare ne' di chiedere al sig. Falcone circa la sua tristissima storia, dico solo che ogni paese straniero sovrano ha le proprie leggi e non e' semplice impegnarsi in ognuno di essi per i nostri connazionali. Ho letto che ad oggi ci sono oltre 2500 italiani detenuti in giro per il mondo, come si fa a gestire tutte queste situazioni? Nel sito si parla della clinton e di amanda detenuta in italia, faccio notare che la clinton non ha fatto altro che dire " abbiamo fiducia nella magistratura italiana", non ha assolutamente fatto nessuna pressione, piuttosto sono stati cittadini comuni e associazioni private che hanno fatto qualcosa. Su quali basi e per quale di questi nostri concittadini l'italia dovrebbe muoversi? E come? Le leggi e le magistrature sono cosi' diverse tra i vari paesi, come fare a sapere chi fra 2500 italiani e' davvero innocente? Sono delle storie tristissime perche' mi immedesimo nei genitori e nei cari di queste persone giustamente o ingiustamente detenute, deve essere terribile sostenere il tempo che passa, posso solo pregare e sperare con tutto me stesso che chi e' davvero innocente torni presto a casa.
